June 16th 2019 is the day when we will all lose our peace and voice box collectively, cheering on India and Pakistan, who’re playing against each other in the ICC World Cup 2019. Although, an India-Pakistan match fervour isn’t old news, it’s still celebrated and watched by everyone due to the history we’ve shared with Pakistan all along.
During the 2015 ICC World Cup, Star Sports came up with a campaign or theme for the promo of the Indo-Pak match and although it flew well with us Indians, the Pakistanis weren’t too pleased with it. The ‘Mauka Mauka’ ads gained immense popularity amongst the masses and the theme caught on like common cold, all over the country.
This year, Mauka Mauka is back with a bang, and this time it’s promoting the Indo-Pak match on the 16th of June 2019, the same day Father’s day is celebrated all across the world and the advertisement has a ‘slight’ mention of that. As expected, the ad is humouring Pakistan’s dismissal record against India in ICC events and it seems it’s making the Pakistanis a tad angry, but really, no one cares because it’s all in light humour.

The video shows actor Vikas Malhotra who plays the Pakistan son remembering his father’s words on how one should keep trying and never give up, and the Indian fan in the ad shows some savagery by taking the ‘baap’ dig on the Pakistani player. Obviously the Pakistanis showed a bit of resentment over the ad and aren’t happy with the Mauka Mauka campaign, promoting the match between the two countries.
We personally gave a thought and just took this video as a troll just like any other troll on internet. Whether it was distasteful or just lit up some wildfire will be upto the upcoming Match on 16th when India and Pakistan will clash for the World Cup.
